Christopher Armentano, LCSW, NCGC, is a founding director of IPG. He has worked in the problem gambling field since 1982 and currently serves as the director of Problem Gambling Services for the Connecticut Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services. He is a past president of the CT Council on Problem Gambling and a member of the advisory board of the National Council on Problem Gambling. In 2000 the National Council awarded him the Herman Goldman Foundation Award for his contributions to the field. In 1999, the documentary “One Last Bet”, which he co-produced with Lisa Simmons, was acknowledged with a special media award by the National Council.

Jim Wuelfing

Jim Wuelfing is owner of the New England Center, a company dedicated to quality training and technical assistance services. He has many specialties including, prevention, community awareness, curriculum development, peer education, stress management and problem gambling prevention. The New England Center presently holds contracts with the Massachusetts Council on Compulsive Gambling and the DMHAS Compulsive Gambling Treatment Program as well several agencies, colleges and universities. He has trained professionals around the country and in Europe. Mr. Wuelfing has been on the faculty of the New England School of Alcohol Studies for eight years. Prior to owning his own business, he was the Training Manager at the ETP Center in East Hartford, CT. He also served as an Associate Dean of Students at Holy Cross College in Worcester, MA.

Henry Lesieur, Ph.D., President of IPG

Dr. Lesieur is a prolific author and editor of books and journals concerning problem gambling, including The Chase, the first sociological study of the lives of pathological gamblers. He was the founding editor of the Journal of Gambling Behavior, and was the co-author of the South Oaks Gambling Screen, which is a widely used instrument to measure pathological gambling around the world. He has conducted training sessions, symposiums, and presentations all over the world on problem and pathological gambling gamblers and is a recognized expert worldwide. Dr. Lesieur has received four awards for his contributions to the field of problem gambling. He has held several Professorships at Universities in the U.S. and Canada, and at the same time has been active in clinical treatment programs and as a researcher.

Mr. Gorelick is a trained psychotherapist, specializing in problem gambling. He has written and produced four public service announcements on problem gambling for television and has received several awards for outstanding and distinguished work in the field. Mr. Gorelick has been influential and active in originating the concepts for the Problemgambling.com Web site. His progressive approach to furthering the objectives of IPG have been instrumental in establishing working relationships between the various stakeholders.

 

 

 

Peter A. Nucci Jr., M.M., Chief Executive Officer of IPG.
Mr. Nucci is also the CEO of The Connection, Inc., a not-for-profit human service and community development agency and CEO and Co-founder of The Connection Fund, Inc., which develops and manages affordable housing and community facilities in Connecticut. He is an active board member, officer and executive for ten organizations concerned with social issues, environmental improvement, and the prevention and treatment of addictions.
